Club members past and present enjoyed a memorable 40th Anniversary Dinner Dance at the Classic Function Centre, Dural, last Saturday night (June 20).

With ex-President and Life Member Gary Callaghan as MC, the evening included an insightful speech from guest-of-honour, Les Murray from SBS, who shared the story of his family's flight from Hungary to Australia as well as a potted history of football in this country.
"Clubs such as the Hills Hawks", he said, "are the lifeblood of the game".
Attendees were entertained by ventriloquist Darren Clarke and his two dummies - one a "scotsman" from Glenorie!
An audio-visual presentation of the club's history (created by Sam) was proudly displayed on a screen as guests enjoyed a lovely meal (and the odd drink or two).
The evening really took off when members translated the fancy footwork usually reserved for the soccer pitch onto the dancefloor. Given the dynamism on display, it was hard to believe that anyone was actually born before 1969.
Guests included Life Members Ian Kerr, Paul Thomas, Colin Munn, Steve Howlett, Greg Peebles, Julie Peebles, Joe Basha, Jeff Willemsen, John Ross, Greg Freeman, Debbie McCranor and Micheal Coffey (who showed his skill with a dollar coin and a bottle of whiskey).
